Why Do My Eyes Hurt? Blue Light May be Damaging Your Eyes
Whether you are a gamer, work on a computer, or just use your iPad, phone, tv, tablet, and other devices with digital displays casually for entertainment or to keep in touch with the world, you are being exposed to blue light. This high-energy form of radiation is composed of short wavelengths that are suspected of contributing to serious eye damage with overexposure. Ultraviolet light has been indicated as a strong causative agent in cataracts, tumor growth, and cancer. While the eye is capable of filtering out UV light to some extent, sadly it is just not very good at filtering out blue light. With most of us experiencing 10+ hours of exposure to unnatural blue light per day, there is growing concern that this light may be causing serious damage.
